I am busy completing the advanced business brokers course. My leanings are towards clients operating and owning small to medium businesses. i am doing the business broker course to add value in the buying and selling of businesses and the buy and sell and keyman policies for the protection of these clients. |
It is quite interesting how the independant brokers are joining together to create a value add that is bigger than themselves. The consolidation of one man and small business brokers seems an inevitable trend, as the squeeze of costs and legislation hit the industry. It is important to bear in mind as a client, this is especially so if you are looking for long term financial planning. Does your broker have a succession plan in place? |
Have worked in the life assurance industry since 1989. With Southern Life, Momentum Life and Capital Alliance, in back office positions. Worked with Discovery Consulting Services as a Broker Consultant for 4 years. Thereafter joined an independant brokerage to help set up the market for International health Insurance through Bupa International. Currently in another independant brokerage, with the emphasis on South Africans looking for advice in the life assurance and medical aid arenas. I haven't mentioned minimum accepted business as i truly believe that everything is based on client need...not purely premium. |
